Our buildings are all in the modernist/modular style but that’s not necessarily restrictive in how the building functions – our very first build was an orchard library. No kidding.

Boasting a thousand books and ten thousand moments of blissful solitude for the owner… though that same serene little library has also been centre stage to a dozen of the most raucous, bacchanalian parties in suburban legend.

And been luxury accommodation for countless weekend visitors, girl’s night sleepovers and an eternally industrious workspace.

Because the corten steel core is so crucial to the shape and fortitude of the project, we work from three basic templates, as dictated by the size of standard conex containers.

  • Lengths of approximately 6.5m, 9.5m, 12.75,
  • Standard heights on all templates of 2.5m and
  • Depths of 2.5m as standard.

Once you’ve decided the best size of building we’ll get started on how you want your masterpiece to look and how it’ll all be utilised.

That steel core is the key to the tremendous investment value of our constructions.

Your SpaceMan building will almost certainly come under permitted development or the Caravans Site Act but our architects will examine all the crucial details, chat with your local planning officer and then execute with precision.

Our clients sometimes wonder what makes our buildings so special.

They see lots of lip-smackingly sexy garden constructions in glossy mags and on Instagram and are understandably tempted, especially when they seem less expensive than premium offerings like ours.

The difference, most often, is that those other buildings don’t have a steel core so, by the time even the best guarantees of fifteen years or more are passed, many will be approaching the end of their lifecycle. They are gorgeous but they’re just not built to last forever.

Whereas every SpaceMan building should remain fundamentally unblemished for a century, the outer skin being altered, time and time again as the decades pass, without the building’s strength and therefore its value to your property ever diminishing.
